Privacy Policy

We don’t collect your personal information

Hotglass consists of an iPhone/iPad app and a Mac app. There is no account and no server; your panels and keys stay on your own devices.

What we don’t collect

  • There is no account and no sign-in.
  • There are no analytics, ads or third-party SDKs.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple; we receive no payment details.
  • Your panels, keys, shortcuts, typed text, files and app lists stay on your own devices. We cannot see them.

What travels between your devices

Your iPhone or iPad connects directly to your Mac over the local network. The connection is encrypted and tied to both devices’ identities when you pair them. The phone only sends input such as which key you pressed; what a key does is decided and carried out on the Mac. Pairing credentials are kept in each device’s Keychain.

Permissions

  • Local Network (iPhone/iPad, Mac): to find and connect to your paired device.
  • Camera (iPhone/iPad): only when you choose to scan the code, to read the pairing QR code. Nothing is stored or sent.
  • Accessibility (Mac): to press shortcuts, type text and move the pointer on the Mac, and to read apps’ menu commands.

Purchases and membership (iPhone/iPad)

Membership is bought only in the iPhone/iPad app through In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment, the subscription, renewals and refunds; we never receive your payment details or your Apple ID.

The app asks Apple’s StoreKit on the device whether this device is a member; the only thing it keeps on the device for this is which panels you chose to use for free. None of this is sent to us. Over the encrypted local connection, the phone tells your paired Mac whether it is a member and which panels are free, so the Mac editor can mark the panels that need membership; this only travels between your own devices.

AI tools (Mac)

You can let AI tools on your Mac change your panel configuration through Hotglass. This stays on your Mac, each tool needs your consent on the Mac, and you can revoke it at any time. AI tools cannot make Hotglass perform actions.

Checking for updates (Mac)

Only when you choose Check for Updates… does the Mac app request a small version file from our website. As with visiting any website, the server sees your IP address; we do not use it to identify you.

This website uses no cookies. To see how many people visit and which pages they read, it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you: the page, the referring site, the browser and device type, the country and how fast the page loaded.

Children

Hotglass does not collect information from children.
